Remarks & Notes |
Darlington was one of the birth places of the railway, when the Stockton and Darlington Railway opened in 1829. It was the world's first public railway to use steam locomotives. This beautiful Victorian structure of Darlington railway station was built in 1887. Train 1S18 from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley entered platform 4, run by the new Hitachi built "AZUMA" 800 # 113 of the London North East Railway (LNER). The AZUMA's are now running about half of the LNER east coast mainline services. |
