Remarks & Notes |
Freshly painted CNW 1280 is seen at the Wisconsin Great Northern facilities at Trego, WI. My understanding is this was debuted as a surprise for the CNW Ry. Historical Society meeting held here in late October. I have not verified that this is the original locomotive, although it could be. CNW 1280 and 1281 were the only two SW600s built for a class I carrier. They were built in March 1954 and worked in NW Wisconsin, often in Eau Claire until they were retired and sold. They both had essentially this scheme throughout their CNW careers. |
