Remarks & Notes |
Construction of a new double Fairlie 0-4-4-0 steamlocomotive "James Spooner II" for the Ffestiniog Railway in the Boston Lodge workshop, from used and new parts. This are the frame and the two power bogies for the "James Spooner II" locomotive which schould be ready in 2020. The power bogies are used parts from the "Earl of Merioneth", the frame is new. The new boiler is under construction in Boston Lodge too, to a hybrid riveted/welded design. This locomotive with open cabs (no roof) takes its name from an earlier FR engine which was named after the company's first manager and will be the seventh locomotive to be built by the Ffestiniog Railway Company in its own workshops at Boston Lodge, and the seventh FR Double Fairlie. |
