Bi-modal intercity train of the Intercity Express Programme (IEP), built by Hitachi in Kasado/Japan (bodyshells) and Newton Aycliffe Manufacturing Facility (assembling and commissioning) 800 # 110 of the London North Eastern Railway (LNER), leaving Newcastle as empty rolling stock 5Q41 to Edinburgh. This bi-mode nine-car trains can reach 125 mph and have 2800 kW from 5 underfloor MAN diesel engines or 4300 kW from the 25000 V 50 Hz AC overhead wire.
