Two Chessie-attired SD50s (CSXT 8565, 8591) lead CSX R342 (Cumberland to Enola) eastbound on No. 1 Main at New Franklin. As it enters Conrail territory at Lurgan, some 14 miles distant, R342 would be re-symbolled as WHLU96 for the balance of the trip to Enola.
At right, No. 2 Main can be seen returning to occupy the same ROW as No. 1 Main. For the preceding 4 miles or so, Tracks 1 and 2 are sometimes adjacent, sometimes at different elevations, and sometimes not even within sight of one another, often giving the appearance of two different railroads.
