With the sun having dipped below the horizon, another day in Marysville slowly draws to a close as the rumble of three, General Electric diesel locomotives begins to reverberate off some of the nearby structures as UP 2716 leads a loaded ballast train off the Canyon Subdivision and onto the Valley Subdivision. Once clear of the curves at Binney Junction and the slow speeds of passing through town, this train will get a chance to stretch its legs on the run to Roseville before it is parked in the yard upon its arrival. The brick building in the background is the Marysville High School, founded in 1871.
