Remarks & Notes |
NJT 4216 is one of the more “recent” locomotives to return to service after being sidelined for a rather long period of time for PTC installations. It started life back in November, 1968 as Penn Central GP40 No. 3204 and was later rebuilt and repainted by Conrail to NJTR GP40PH-2B No. 4216. The unit is seen here shoving an eastbound Bay Head to Long Branch shuttle over the cold waters of the Manasquan River in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. |
