The northbound Palmetto was a sure-fire catch every morning on a line that didn't have a lot of daytime freight or passenger traffic other than a couple locals operated out of Bennett Yard. Don't know what has happened in the years since, but in the late 1970s when I lived in Charleston, the Palmetto seemed well-patronized.
