Remarks & Notes |
The Fullerton Switcher comes down one of the final stretches of rail on the Brea Chemical Industrial Lead. I read somewhere that the line was originally built as an attempt build a mainline through the Santa Ana Canyon, however the Santa Fe shut the UP down pretty quick on that one. The Fullerton branch portion of this line has also been taken out of service due to the lack of customers and deteriorating condition of the tracks south of La Habra. This local now only makes the 10 mile trek from Santa Fe Springs to Brea twice a week for one plastics customer that without, would prove the line obsolete. |
