"Leading from New Haven One Last Time"
AEM-7AC 946 prepares to lead Amtrak Extra 520 with 7 other AEM-7ACs out of New Haven Union Station on Metro North's New Haven Line. The train will shove to Cedar Hill Yard where it will wait for the other 7 to join then proceed onward to it's final destination in Davisville, RI for storage. As per MNR rules, only 12 locomotives can be present in a single consist. Because of this the 15 AEM-7s were split up into two moves. This would be the second to last time an AEM-7 leads on Metro North territory, with the second move the next night being the last. |
