Starting in the late 1980s (as I recall), SP power became very common on trains coming up CSX from New Orleans, but we did not see many GP40P-2s. I watched hundreds of trains through Opelika in that period, and this is the only time I saw one. The second diesel is a bit unusual as well, as it is one of just ten SD60s delivered to CSX. Many more came later in the Conrail split.
