It’s 6:15 am, BNSF Railway train H-SDGBAR8-13 is sitting in the railway’s foggy San Bernardino B Yard, partway through its journey from San Diego to Barstow. BNSF ES44C4 6842 and Union Pacific SD70ACe are the power for this High Priority Merchandise freight train. Two tracks over, lurking in the fog and under Blue Flag protection, is BNSF’s annual California Division Christmas Train, getting prepped for its first trip of the day (two trips to Cajon Pass’ Summit), with ES44C4 7025 on this (eastern) end, and BNSF ES44C4 4228 on the western end. (San Bernardino, California – December 14, 2019)
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
