WS-X returns eastbound over the Hackensack River in Bogota after making a Saturday run to Sparta with SD45-2 3618 leading. 3618 was built for the Burlington Northern in 1971 before being purchased by the NYSW in 1985 for use on Sealand stack trains. With the Sealand trains long gone, the 3618 has soldiered on into the 21st century, mainly assigned to local service. It is one of the few remaining "cool" units left on the roster in my book in a railroad mostly powered by SD60s and lease units.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
