Remarks & Notes |
Blue Ridge Southern train T59 heads down to Sylva with a rare trio of locomotives and sixteen cars including five car loads of 136 lb. rail for Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. Before being sold to Watco in 2014 by Norfolk Southern, this stretch of track was the steepest stretch of Class 1 railroad trackage in the Eastern United States. This train was howling down the mountain with its dynamic brakes fully engaged. |
