Uncharted Territory
NJ Transit ALP46A no. 4636 in Pennsylvania Railroad livery heads west across Morgan Drawbridge spanning the Cheesequake Creek. Jointly owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Central Railroad of New Jersey, these tracks were not electrified until 1982; prior to which an engine change from electric to steam or diesel would have occurred at South Amboy. A Pennsylvania Railroad electric locomotive under wires west of South Amboy is uncharted territory for the "Standard Railroad of the World."
Photos from across RP of NJ Transit’s 40th Anniversary specially painted & wrapped units.
Also included are the fully wrapped Veterans & Pride tribute units.
