My friends and I had hoped to see M371, led by IC 1010, going south through Rantoul or Paxton, IL before the sun set. However, it wasn't until the south end of the siding at Onarga that we found what we were looking for. By that time, the sun had set below the horizon, and we were out of options...almost. We decided to give chase to the train as it made its way south through Buckley and Loda. Along the way, the last remaining light offered an irresistible backdrop for a silhouette shot.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
