Remarks & Notes
Merriam depot was located at a diamond and junction between the former Minneapolis & St. Louis and Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha, both of which were absorbed into CNW by 1960. In spring 1974 the depot still rated an agent, and the MSTL line to the left would have had 4 scheduled daily freights as would the Omaha line in the foreground, plus locals. The MSTL line went into Minneapolis from Mason City, IA, and the Omaha line went to St. Paul from Mankato, MN (and Omaha/Council Bluffs).
