| UP 1938 leads a sand train though Eau Claire on its return to Altoona after making a turn to Chippewa Falls to the Wisconsin Northern connection. There appear to be some adjustments in power philosophy as these trains had been typically drawing larger modern power rather than older EMD local and switching power. Numerous larger units remain in storage both in Altoona and Adams, WI at this time. |
