Remarks & Notes |
The 2-Foot "Jukes Tree". Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Locomotive #6 and her train seem dwarfed by the massive fir tree at Rosewood Crossing, as she makes her way south toward Wiscasset on the WW&F Railway. The dearth of branches on the lower reaches of this big tree have prompted some to compare it to the century-old, ratty-looking pine tree on the old D&RGW line north of Chama, New Mexico that has come to be named for photographer Fred Jukes. |
