Remarks & Notes

The westbound UP "dirt train" has paused at Wash (just east of Wellington, UT) to pick up a single empty hopper from the small, mostly unused yard there. I assume this was a bad order car that was set off by an empty coal train. What appears to be an Alco and EMD switcher are parked, side by side, in the distance a the opposite end of the yard. The empty portion of the yard was later converted into a crude oil terminal.
