Remarks & Notes

I am aboard CN's crack passenger train No. 61, The Rapido, from Montreal to Toronto. Due to a derailment on the mainline in Dorval (suburban Montreal) all trains coming from and heading to the west had to take a time consuming detour at Coteau through Ayrness and Delson and across the Victoria Bridge to Montreal. We are at Delson where the Massena Sub. crosses the CPR. We currently are Passenger Extra 6774 West. We hold the main as the opposing Passenger Extra 6532 East enters the siding. After this meet we will proceed to Ayrness to meet an eastbound freight. This detour added more than two hours and a half hours as this was single track train order territory with a 40 MPH speed limit.
