A short Massachusetts Central train with intermodal cars is tied up at the railroad’s small yard/facility near the U.S. Highway 20 overpass on the west side of Palmer, Massachusetts, on May 20, 1993. Powering the train is rare EMD NW5 No. 2100 and CF7 No. 2443. MCER No. 2100 is a former Southern Railway unit, its only NW5 constructed in 1947, and one of only 13 NW5 locomotives built.
