| "MNR Rail Train at Tilcon New York (Clinton Point)"
Metro North GP35rs 108 & 104 head south down the upper Hudson Line through Tilcon New York's Clinton Point Quarry with an empty rail train in tow. The train dropped continuously welded rail (CWR) on at various locations between CP72 and CP75 in the Poughkeepsie area before bringing the train to CSX's Croton West Yard in Croton for CSX pick-up.
The Tilcon plant was served by rail many years ago but has since relied on trucks and barges to export what is excavated. Special thanks to the people at Tilcon that made this shot possible. |
