Not too long after departing the railroad’s facilities at Sugar Junction near Monte Vista, Colorado, San Luis Central No. 70 plods along with a northbound freight on the morning of May 24, 2007. Built in 1952, EMD SW8 No. 70 was bought by the railroad in 1988.
