After being in a slight derailment with 4 other hoppers down at Cadwell on the elevator spur (bad track), the UP 1066 is good to go for use again. The local brought it back to Villa Grove yesterday and it was positioned to lead north today. Going on duty at 0500, the crew quickly got their orders and were off to the train. Some switching was done and after a northbound autorack train, they took off. Seen here two miles north of Villa Grove, the 1066 and 1431 are posed against a beautiful sunrise.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
