Remarks & Notes
On the first morning of the Amtrak era, the Delaware & Hudson's overnight Montreal Limited out of New York crosses the Lachine Canal outside Montreal on its final trip to Windsor Station, with PA 18 in charge. Passenger service over the D&H wouldn't resume until the Adirondack started up in 1974.

The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
