Have Some Madera, My Dear… - A pair of Union Pacific Railroad GPs, GP15-1 Y692 and GP38-2 559, have picked up a few cars at Azteca Milling in Madera, in California’s verdant San Joaquin Valley. UPY 692 was originally Missouri Pacific 1692 before becoming UP 1692, while GP38-2 559 was built as UP 2059, the last of UP’s original 60-unit GP38-2 order – All of UP’s other numerous GP38-2s were acquired through mergers and second-hand purchases.
