| DC 4790 runs long hood through the suburbs of Whangarei to deliver a train load of containers to Fonterra at Kauri, the northernmost customer on the KiwiRail network. DC class locomotives were rebuilt with new cabs and prime movers from EMD G12 model (DA class) first introduced in 1955. Around 20 are still in service, a testimony to EMD quality! |
