| It was weird to see non-UP motors leading trains thru Iowa back in 2019. BNSF's Creston Sub was out of service for a time due to serve flooding of the Missouri River around Pacific Junction in southwest Iowa. BNSF detour a bunch of trains via the UP main thru Iowa. Here a loaded coal train stops to pickup a crew just west of Lowden. The UP was also out of service on their main thru Nebraska, so their main thru Iowa had tons of parked trains waiting for detour options. 3 dead trains were parked between Lowden and Stanwood this afternoon. |
