Water at Wabuska. V&T #22 "Inyo" eases up to the water tank, just south of the Wabuska Depot at Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City. The tank you see here is a working replica of a Virginia & Truckee water tank that existed at Franktown, Nevada, in the Washoe Valley just north of Carson City. The design of this tank is also typical of tanks at other locations on the V&T, such as Scales. Although this replica is only about 2/3rds the size of the original tank, it still holds 4,500 gallons. During its periodic steam operations, you will see all of the museum's steam engines use this water tank multiple times each day.
