Around Milwaukee and Chicagoland lately, we've been graced with the presence of CP SD40-2's on ballast trains. It's been at least eight years, however, since I've seen SD40-2's leading a high priority intermodal on the CP. Today, they shocked us all. At Portage, the lead GE had issues and the only power sitting around was CP 6068 and 6043, so the SD40-2 duo was sent to the rescue to bring train 198 the rest of the way to Bensenville. Here, the train is seen heading east through Rondout, passing under the classic Milwaukee Road searchlights that are still standing in the year 2020. A multimark "Pacman" leads the way, followed by an action red and a beaver scheme AC4400CW.
