Colorado Highway 72 is a bit slick this morning, with Coal Creek Canyon covered in a nice coat of snow on this late winter morning of March 2, 2002. Circling the big curve is the Rio Grande Ski Train with some “heritage” leading as it approaches Tunnel 1 east of Plainview. Union Pacific EMD GP60 No. 1900, the former Rio Grande No. 3154, takes the place of the usual leading Ansco F40PH No. 242 that needed some shop time.
