| New England Southern is seen headed North with 8 loads, an unusually long train for them. Six of the cars are spine cars loaded with ties destined to be interchanged with Plymouth & Lincoln for a tie replacement project. The train is seen passing the old Boston & Maine freight house in Northfield as the crew flags the busy unprotected crossing. The bridge is the town line and the head end is now in the town of Tilton. The EMD SW1500 was originally built for the Southern Pacific in January 1970.
