As part of a purchase by the State of California, Amtrak is testing the Siemens Venture coach. This will ultimately be part of a semi-permenantly coupled transit. Running as train 840 on a very rainy Sunday, April 26, 2020, the train covered a portion of the Northeast Corridor Line to test at 125 MPH. Siemens Car SIIX 9024 may represent the future of a good portion of the medium and long distance rail travel in the United States.
