Remarks & Notes
This 27,3 km railway was built to Connect the rich city and valley of Sóller to the Capital city of Palma de Mallorca and its port. It started the activity in 16th April 2012, the same day of Titanic sinking. Until 1997, when the road tunnel was built, this was the fastest way to reach Sóller. The main consctruction it´s a 2856m tunnel, that crosses the Alfàbia montain and allowed to break the isolation. Nowadays this railway has 3 stations (Palma de Mallorca, Bunyola and Sóller)and keeps the most of the original machinery (that includes the trainset itself), so it runs mainly as a touristic train. Here Bunyola station.
