A Montana Western Railway train has arrived at the interchange with Montana Rail Link at Garrison, Montana, on September 9, 1995. In 1986, the MWRR leased and began operating 52 miles of trackage owned by the Burlington Northern between Butte and Garrison. In 2003, operation of the line was returned to the BNSF. MWRR Nos. 2011 and 2010 are easy to spot as former Union Pacific EMD GP38-2 locomotives.
