Once upon a National Train Day. May 10, 2014, Juniata Terminal E8A 5809 (ex-Conrail 4020, exx-Amtrak 315 [and others], nee-PRR 5809), was on display at Philadelphia 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, PA for National Train Day, which was designated as the second Saturday in May in 2008. These celebrations took various forms, chiefly surrounded by opportunities for the public to tour rail equipment and participate in fairs at train stations and museums. The next year, the event name was changed to Amtrak Train Days, unpinning it from a spot on the calendar.
