A Union Pacific engineering special, train PLVSL-15, passes through Frost, in California’s Mojave Desert, as it makes its way from Las Vegas, Nevada, to San Luis Obispo, California. The railroad’s newest special locomotive, SD70ACe 1111, decorated to honor the railroad’s employees, is powering this nine-car train. UP 1111 is the former UP 8362, built in April 2005.
