A daylight run to San Diego for BNSF vehicle train V-BARSDG4-23A, as it passes through CP Maple in the city of Orange, as the train comes off Metrolink’s Olive Sub and joins Metrolink’s Orange Sub. BNSF ES44AC 6093 is leading, with two brand-new ES44C4s (3266 and 3267) following. This is most likely the first trip to California for these two. That is 13,200 horsepower for the train’s 70 empty autoracks, for 3.6 hp per ton. Engineer Woolsey and Conductor Norman should have a great view of the Pacific Ocean for much of the rest of this Barstow to San Diego run. (Orange, California – May 23, 2020)
