Remarks & Notes |
BLE 904 and two other CN EMDs grind their way up Proctor Hill leaving Duluth Minnesota behind. This train had just spent most of the afternoon off loading 137 ore cars at the docks in Duluth and are now on their way back toward the mines.
The constant flow of trains from the mines in the Iron Range to either Duluth or Two Harbors is pretty neat to witness. Heavy industry in such a serene area is a nice change of pace from the bustling cities that the iron ore these trains haul help build. With continual development and expansion comes the need for more iron ore. In return this expands those bustling metropolises into these places of serenity, making a peaceful setting hard and harder to find as expansion continues. |
