The Final Days: What has become a rather quick process of changing hands, the Central Maine and Quebec Railway will soon be under full ownership by Canadian Pacific. Upon re-acquiring trackage they had sold off decades prior, CP plans to make upgrades, take in higher rates of traffic, and more. Along with these changes will be the inevitable sale of the CMQ locomotive fleet, including their SD40-2F locomotives ironically purchased from a scrapper after CP initially sold those units off. This being said, seeing CMQ and their fleet before their early June demise has become a priority for many in the region. Here we see Job 2 passing East Outlet in Moosehead, ME headed eastbound in afternoon sun, powered by a pair of CP AC44s sandwiching a dead CMQ SD40-2F and trailed by a leased CIT GP38.
