In 1974/75 this locomotive, together with 7 sisters, was rebuilt for pulling the new "Swiss Express" trains with standard cars type III between St.Gallen and Geneva, and got a special paint scheme light grey/orange with chromium SBB signet on the front, automatic couplers, multi control system. In about 2000 the coupling was rebuilt to standard and the locomotive is in service with all passenger trains now.
