Two hundred and twenty CSX coal buckets pulled by four GE Evolution series locomotives head east down the ex-C&O Logan Subdivision, with the lead locomotive dwarfed by the steam era coaling tower at West Hamlin. In the golden days of coal, the Logan Sub was primarily a double-track mainline between the main line junction at Barboursville and Peach Creek Yard just outside of Logan, aside from an 11 mile section of single track hugging the Guyandotte River between WH Cabin, two miles behind me, and NG Cabin, just west of the present day West End of Ranger siding.
