In the early morning hours of June 3rd, 2020, Norfolk Southern train 310 (Elkhart, IN - Binghamton, NY) derailed in the town of Hunt, NY, just east of Letchworth State Park. Approximately 12 cars from the middle of the train, mostly autoracks, came off the tracks. In the early afternoon, a powerset of NS 4277 (GE AC44C6M) and NS 9401 (GE C44-9W) were dispatched from Buffalo to pick up the west half of 310's train. After coupling to the cut of cars in Hunt, the crew carefully inspected the train before they proceeded west to Buffalo. The train is seen here utilizing the passing siding in Rock Glen to rearrange some of the freight cars on the head end. A heavy rainstorm had just made its way through this area, providing for a nice reflection shot in a lineside puddle.
