Buffalo & Pittsburgh train X-BFSI (Buffalo, NY - Salamanca, NY) passes "AD" tower in Ashford, NY with a train for interchange with the WNYP in Salamanca. Built in 1914 by the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh (BR&P) railroad, Ashford tower stood to guard the junction of the Buffalo and Rochester divisions of the railroad. The tower was in service until the late 1960's when CTC was installed by the B&O railroad and has sat dormant ever since. Out of the four BR&P towers still standing, AD (Ashford, NY), WI (Brockway, PA), FC (Falls Creek, PA), and C&M Jct. (DuBois, PA) Ashford is in the best condition.
