Talk About Foreign Power: With the recent acquisition of the Central Maine & Québéc (CMQ) railway by Canadian Pacific, a handful of the CMQ GMD SD40-2Fs have made the surprising move of rejoining their former locomotive fleet in revenue service with CP. With malfunctions with their former leader, CP train 143 took a pair of the dinosaur locomotives and put them up front. What excited everyone was that CP 143 turns for CSXT Q165, a run-through intermodal train running west out of Buffalo, NY. Sure enough, the CMQ power lasted on to CSX as who would’ve ever imagined that SD40-2Fs would be ahead on a CSX intermodal train in 2020? Definitely not me. With commemorative CP SD70ACU #7023 trailing fourth to top it off, the long, long drive was well worth it.
