| Metra engineer John Appel guides Milwaukee District North train #2121 under the old Pennsy signal bridge at CP Morgan, located in the near west side of Chicago. Once to the destination of Fox Lake, Mr. Appel retired with 52 years of service under his belt. The last Milwaukee Road engineer on Metra, you can definitely say he got to go out in style with Metra's MILW commemorative painted unit leading the way. Many photographers were out along the line to document the end of an era. Congratulations on a very well deserved retirement! |
