The Delaware and Hudson leased four, Erie Lackawanna E8's for use on its passenger trains from Albany, NY to Montreal. The steam generating capacity of a single PA was insufficient for the cold winters, so the PA's were doubled up, resulting in a shortage of power to cover the four daily trains. These two have arrived on the overnight Montreal Limited from Albany, NY. They are laying over at the engine terminal at CPR's Glen Yard and will return south on this evening's train.
