Severed Diamond: A CSX local at the diamond location of where the former Seaboard Air Line Parrish Subdivision used to cross the former Atlantic Coast Line (present day Palmetto Subdivision which is used heavily by CSX). In this photo, the diamond seems recently removed severing the Parrish Subdivision at this location. In the present day, the Parrish Subdivsion tracks pictured in this photo have been removed. Appropriately, CSXT 6276 is a former C&O locomotive (CO 4378); appropriate because the Seaboard Air Line and the Atlantic Coast Line merged into the Seaboard Coast Line in 1967 which, in 1980, merged with the Chessie System to form CSX. This local has just finished serving the General Electric Plant at Ellenton Junction which ultimately shut down in February of 2011.
