| Included in this July 2000 view is a who's who of classic western motive power from Southern Pacific, Union Pacific and Western Pacific. Shortly after this photo was taken WP 707 was repainted into silver/orange. The Western Pacific Railroad Museum would eventually divest of many non-WP pieces of equipment. SP 4404 was sold to Western Rail, Inc in 2014 where it was supposedly going to be returned to service. I'm not sure what happened to the unit since then. UP 849 was also sold to Western Rail where it was recently rebuilt as a "GP38-3m" for the Central Montana Railroad (CMR 849). It retains its overall GP30 appearance. |
